About Us

Founded in Amsterdam in 1845, Heijdenrijk has been one of the world’s premier suppliers of handmade frames to museums, art dealers, and private collectors for over a century.

In 1982, Paul Gehring (third generation Gehring employed by Heijdenrijk) started his own frame making company. Again quality was the utmost priority, and the company distinguished itself through the high quality of its frames and services.

Early 2009, both firms decided to merge, which created a very strong company with a very diverse and broad collection of over 14 style periods including 17th century, antique, modern, and confection frames.

In 2013, after being employed at the company for over 30 years, Marcel Fleury acquired Gehring/Heijdenrijk. Consequently, the premium quality  and diversity of its frames is maintained.

There are several showrooms at Gehring/Heijdenrijk, where we frequently take the time to personally advise our clients regarding frames for their art. It is also possible to get a tour through our historic company to get a taste of one of the oldest and most prestigious frame makers in the world.

Below, you can choose to see a list of our institutional clients, see our portfolio of works framed for clients, take a virtual look inside the company, or read about the history of the art of framing.
